                                SMART GOALS

 

Once you have planned an enterprise or project, you will need specific goals that will best enable you to be successful. Goals should be SMART – that is, specific, measurable, agreed, realistic and time-based.

 

Objectives that are SMART are likely to be achieved also enable learning that can keep you on track to success.

 

We recommend you set some clear goals using the SMART guidelines and share these with anyone involved with you in the enterprise. These goals should be:

Specific

 

• Well defined and clear to anyone that has a basic knowledge of the project

 

Measurable

 

•  Know if the goal is obtainable and how far away completion is

 

Agreed Upon

 

• Agreement with your colleagues/partners/family what the goals should be

 

Realistic

 

• Achieve within the availability of resources, knowledge and time

 

Time Based

 

• Allow enough time to achieve the goal
